An artwork by artist Tully Arnot and local blacksmith Phil Spark celebrating the endangered Purple Copper Butterfly.
Endangered species celebrated through art
Artist Tully Arnot has been commissioned to develop an interactive artwork to help us teach local students about the plight of the Purple Copper Butterfly which is native to this region.
Working with local blacksmith, Phil Spark, Tully has created a kinetic work that will allow STEAMWorks to travel to locations and display the work to use as part of the eduction process about the fragility of our natural environment and what we can all do to ensure we are helping to maintain the delicate balance required.
The artwork will be installed in the Annexe building and will be the focal point of an official Cocktail evening to celebrate the STEAMFair.
There will also be a display of local author Christine Baileys new book about this rare butterfly.
Tickets available soon.
